Stanley Ito Florist finds itself in new 'green' building

Stanley Ito Florist has moved to a new location after 55 years in the Nuuanu Shopping Plaza.

Kathleen Yoshinaga, the long-time florist's daughter who now operates the shop, said the move took place at the end of January to an approximately 1,500-square-foot space on the ground floor of the recently redesigned Kaneda's Catering building at 40 S. School Street.

"It's a new look, new building and nice blend for us and it's been about keeping up with change since the days of my father's clients," she said.

The LEED-registered building is home to architectural firm Philip K. White & Associates and interior designer Mary Philpotts McGrath's offices and showroom.
